Hillingdon Railway Modellers is a group of railway modelling enthusiasts based to the West of London in the West Drayton/Hayes/Yiewsley area.
Interests of our members cover the majority of the smaller gauges, (N, OO, HO, O and narrow), with club layouts and test tracks in OO and O.
Our next club open day is being held on Saturday the 31 March. OO and O gauge test tracks will both be set up and DC and DCC locos running on both tracks. Bacon rolls, teas and coffees and other refreshments will also be available. Some photos of previous open days appear in the gallery section. As a reminder this is not an exhibition so please bring along your stock to run.
Our 0 gauge layout, East Dean, will be exhibiting at the Crawley MRS on the 14 and 15 April.
The club usually takes its completed layouts to three or four exhibitions a year. Two new layouts are currently under construction, one in OO and another in O (Grindley Brook); so if you've never built a model railway, come along and pick up some tips on how (and how not) to do it. March sees our annual modelling and photographic competitions.
On the social side, we enjoy the occasional day out to places of railway interest to in the South of England; occasionally further afield, and last but not least, our annual Christmas dinner for members and their partners.
We are holding club open days 31 March and 7 July, (all 10:00 to 16:00). Our OO and O gauge test tracks will be set up so you can come and run your own locomotives (sorry but no live steam). DC and DCC will also be available as will refreshments. It should be noted that these ARE NOT exhibitions.
